Sam’s back as Burgh aim to make it four in a row

Esplin return boosts McKim’s hopes

Johnstone Burgh boss Jamie McKim hopes his side can make it four wins on the spin this afternoon as his in-form side travel to take on Vale of Leven.

It’s the first of a double- header against the Alexandria outfit who sit a point above Burgh in the McBookie League Two table and McKim is confident they can leapfrog today’s opponents.

The Keanie Park boss is looking for a stylish performance from his charges today but admits he would accept all three points by any means .

He told Express Sport: “We want to get the ball down and play football, make chances and score loads of goals but at this time of the year and on some of the pitches that isn’t always possible.

“The most important thing is the result and we will be looking to take all three points today.

“The boys are all confident after a decent run of form. We were excellent last weekend at Vale Of Clyde and we want to continue that on.

“We play Vale of Leven twice on the trot and I think we can get six points from the games.”

Johnstone, who will welcome back Sam Esplin to the side after he missed out last week, are looking to make a charge up the table after a mixed start to the season.

McKim added: “I have told the boys that two or three wins in a row means you can really do things in this league. That’s what we are focussed on.

“We’ve put in some extra fitness work this week going into the winter months and we had a good session on Thursday night so we are ready.”

And McKim says he knows all about the test his side faces at Millburn Park.

“We know about all them from last season. They have pretty much the same squad with a couple of additions so we know what we are up against,” he said.
