Lewis pled guilty to possession of a Class-A drug during an earlier hearing. Sheriff Pettigrew fined him £765. He added: “I have to have regard to the fact that this was a Class-A and the quantity of it.

Lewis, of Falside Road, Paisley, has been ordered to pay £30 per week. Police in Paisley are hunting two yobs who racially abused newsagent staff.

The male suspects hurled sickening abuse at a 59-yearold man and a 47-year-old woman, who are both Asian, at the store in New Street on Tuesday night.

It’s understood the vile pair launched into a torrent of horrific slurs during an argument over a purchase.

The duo then made off towards High Street.

Police Scotland are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch.

A spokeswoma­n said: “We are investigat­ing a hate crime after a 59-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman were racially abused within a shop in New Street, Paisley on Tuesday.

“If you witnessed this incident, please contact police in Paisley. Hate crimes of any sort will not be tolerated in our community.”
