Inkers get on their marks for Children’s Hospital
Tattoo team hope to raise £3,500 with special charity day
A Paisley studio has proved you can never raise tat- too much money for charity by throwing a fundraising event for Glasgow Children’s Hospital.
Artist Leon Rice marked the occasion by offering discounted tattoos at his Chameleon Tattoo studio.
Staff at the Glasgow Road shop rolled up their sleeves and went to work, tattooing close to 50 people during the charity event.
The ink-tastic day raised an estimated £3,100 for charity so far, with owner Leon hoping they’ll be able to hit their £3,500 target when they tally up the final amount.
Leon told the Paisley Daily Express: “We designed lots of little tattoos to tie into the Children’s Hospital purple theme.
“Then we offered them up below our usual rates, with all the proceeds going to the Glasgow Children’s Hospital.
“The day went really well and the heart-shaped infinity tattoos were particularly popular.”
And this isn’t the first time Leon and his team have raised funds for a worthy cause.
“We’ve done quite a few of these over the years,” said Leon. “For the last six years or so we’ve tried to do a charity day once a year. “We always have a great time.” Previous charities have included Help for Heroes, Movember and Breast Cancer Care and Leon said choosing Glasgow’s Children’s Charity this year was a “no-brainer”. He said: “It’s a great charity, it’s as simple as that. “Everyone can identify with the idea that sick young children need to be looked after and of course we all know how much strain the NHS is under.
