Duo on drugs charge

-

Two men allegedly caught with nearly £20,000 worth of Class-A drugs in Paisley have appeared in court.

Shaun Grady, of Knowe Road, and Darryl Reid, of Netherhill Crescent, are said to have been caught in possession of ecstasy and cocaine in Maxwellton Road last week.

It’s claimed Grady, 21, and Reid, 19, were caught with a quarter kilo of ecstasy in the form of crystal MDMA.

They are also said to have been caught with 65 individual wraps of the drug in powdered form after being pulled over in a car in the town on the evening of Thursday, December 6.

And it’s claimed they were also in possession of an ounce of cocaine, 16 individual wraps of the drug and £600 in cash.

The pair were arrested over the alleged drug bust and held in police custody over the weekend before appearing in the dock at Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday.

Both men appeared before Sheriff Seith Ireland to face two charges - being concerned in the supply of ecstasy and being concerned in the supply of cocaine.

Neither man made any plea to the charges against them.

Sheriff Ireland continued the case against them, for prosecutors to investigate further, and released them on bail. No future court dates have been set but the pair are set to go on trial before a jury some time next year.
