Paisley’s Nativity Trail hits town

Families were treated to an interactive performance of the Christmas story as Connect Church Paisley’s Nativity Trail came to town.

More than 140 people attended the show, re-arranged for Sunday night as a result of poor weather on Friday, which aimed to bring the ‘real story of Christmas to life’.

Amy Walker, pastor for the church, hailed the event a great success.

Amy said: “We wanted to help young and old experience the journey of Christmas and learn why and how Jesus came.

“Through Bible verses, characters and Christmas carols, we feel this was achieved with so many saying what a great and special time they had.

“We look forward to developing the Nativity Trail next year and making it even bigger and better.

“We had so many positive comments about the Trail and people loved learning about Jesus in this interactive and fun way.

“The carols went down really well too with people young and old singing enthusiastically.

“The children had a great time interacting with the characters as they walked around and asked them about their jobs.”

Actors Rebecca Ritchie Smith, Heather Smith, Alice Glass, Jack Smith, Katrina Garner, John McColl, Karen Murray and Hamish Ingelson all played their part, while Connect Church has several organisations to thank for the successful display including: Thomas Coats Memorial Church, Central Baptist Church, Youth With A Mission Paisley, Create Paisley, FoolProof Creative Arts, Basement Theatre Company, Street Pastors, Hev Morrison, Una McDade and M and D Events.
