Helping PaisleyThreads was a labour of love

-

A Christmas toy and clothes appeal organised by the Paisley Labour Party on behalf of Barnardo’s Paisley Threads service has been a festive success.

Generous donations from people and businesses will help local children get a Christmas they wish for this year.

Paisley Threads, which last month celebrated its 20th anniversary, supports and works with babies, children and young families.

Paisley Labour Party chair Maureen Pollock said: “The Threads service does excellent work supporting young families in need within the community.

“We have supported the toy appeal in the past and this year we wanted to do it again, especially considering this is the Threads service’s 20th anniversary year”.

Paisley-based MSP Neil Bibby praised Buddies for their big-hearted donations.

He said: “The generosity of people in Paisley again this year supporting the Toy Appeal has been amazing. I would like to thank all local people and businesses who donated so many gifts .

“Threads do valuable work in the community and it’s great to see people wanting to support them in the work they do.”

Sam King of Barnados added: “It was fantastic to get these donations. We couldn’t do what we do at this time of year without this type of support. All donations are gratefully received and will be put to good use.”

 Paisley Threads, based at 4 Lochfield Road, Paisley, would welcome further donations right up until Christmas Eve and can be contacted on 0141 884 6696.
