YOU’RE AN INSPIRATION TO US ALL
QUADRUPLE AMPUTEE CORINNE’S AWARD JOY
Quadruple amputee Corinne Hutton has been nominated for a Woman of Influence award.
The 43- year- old Lochwinnoch mum, who underwent double hand transplant surgery last month, has recently returned home and is on the road to recovery following the major op.
Corinne, who lost her hands and lower legs in 2013 as a result of acute pneumonia and sepsis, set up charity Finding Your Feet, which aims to help amputees throughout the UK.
The Action For Children’s Women of Influence awards recognises remarkable women in Scotland who have had an outstanding impact on society and are role models to the disadvantaged children, young people, and families the charity supports.
On Sunday, March 17, the overall winner will be announced at a special lunch at the Grand Central Hotel, in Glasgow, hosted by TV presenter Jean Johansson. Since 2001, the event has raised more than £1 million to support the charity’s work across Scotland.
Paul Carberry, director of Action for Children in Scotland, said: “The Woman of Influence award recognises women who have made a real impact in Scotland and beyond. We believe that each of the nominees is an inspiration to the next generation of women in Scotland and are outstanding role models for the young women our projects work with.
“Not only is this event one of the most popular events on our fundraising calendar, it has also raised more than £ 1 million to support our work. This has made a huge difference to the lives of the disadvantaged children, families and young people who we support.
“My personal thanks go to everyone on the Woman of Influence board for their continued hard work in making this event the success it is each and every year.”
Eve Robertson, chair of Woman of Influence Awards 2019, said: “We are delighted to announce the nominees for this year’s Woman of Influence awards. Every year, the Woman of Influence awards recognise remarkable women in Scotland and this year is no different.
“The entire Woman of Influence board has been working incredibly hard this year to deliver this fantastic event and we are very much looking forward to a successful day raising funds to support the important work of Action for Children in Scotland.”
Corinne recently took to social media to post a photo revealing her progress, showing off a personalised ring. The photo is captioned: “The most thoughtful personalised ring engraved with touch, feel, hold, love”.
