Help foodbank to fight poverty and hunger
Renfrewshire Foodbank is looking for energetic and communityminded people to join its board of trustees.
The vital service – which helps vulnerable people in the area – is trying to grow its board as it continues to fight hunger and poverty.
The foodbank is keen to hear from those who have experience of law and the legal system, social care and the benefits system and board administration.
However, applications are welcome from all sections of the community.
The board meets once per quarter and all members are expected to participate proactively in its activities.
They are also asked to attend and support the organisation’s volunteer and fundraising events.
Speaking about the foodbank, manager Elizabeth Alexander said:“If you share our belief that no one in Renfrewshire should have to face going hungry, this is an excellent opportunity to provide leadership for the wellbeing of our community and local families.
“We would prefer that the foodbank was not needed but the service we provide means people who otherwise would be left to starve, have food for themselves and their families.
“Renfrewshire Foodbank is a wonderful example of people within our community coming together to help those within our community who have nothing.”
