- HOLY TRINITY & ST BARNABAS’ CHURCH LYLESLAND PARISH CHURCH

Tomorrow at our 10am Eucharist we mark the sixth week after Epiphany – the visit of the Magi to the Christ Child which denotes Jesus’ presentation to the Gentiles.

All people are welcome to worship with us, and if you are baptised in any denomination, you are most welcome to take the communion with us as well.

On Wednesday, February 20, at 10.30am our midweek Communion service commemorates Martin Luther.

Although ordained into the priesthood in Germany, Luther came to reject several teachings and practices of the church and became a seminal figure in the Protestant Reformation.

He called for academic discussions to be undertaken on church practices and his translation of the bible from Latin to German influenced Tyndale to produce his English bible.

When he refused to renounce all of his writings, he was excommunicated by the Pope. That excommunication was still in force at the time of his death in 1546.

On Wednesday and Friday evenings every week of the year at 7pm, the St Vincent de Paul Society Ozanam Centre provides free hot meals, to all who show up, in our church hall.

No registration or pre-booking is required. Christ of Latter-day Saints, Glenburn Road, Paisley.
