Burgh are fit for purpose

-

Johnstone Burgh boss Jamie McKim has vowed his team will be fighting fit after penning a partnership with Energie Fitness.

As revealed by Express Sport on Tuesday, the Keanie Park side will work closely with the Phoenix Retail Park based gym.

And McKim reckons that supporters will see the benefits of the deal when it comes to the team’s displays on a Saturday.

He told Express Sport:“There can be nothing but positives from this deal for the players, the club and the gym.

“We are going to be promoting them, while also reaping the benefits of the deal ourselves, while Energie will advertise our games to members.

“Robert Martin at the gym has been a brilliant help throughout, and we are delighted to be teaming up with them for the foreseeable future.

“It’s a big thing for me because I believe it will help us come a matchday too. Fitness levels are key to success and this can only be a positive.”

Burgh return to action this afternoon as they welcome St Anthony’s to Johnstone for what looks set to be a grudge match.

Members of both sides will be coming up against their former clubs, and there will be a lot of bragging rights up for grabs.

And McKim will be going all out to ensure that their is no repeat of the defeat suffered to the Ants last time around.

He added:“It’s a bit of rivalry in my eyes and a match I really want to get something from.

“Stephen Fitzpatrick, Steph McGarrigle and Fraser Wallace are now all playing for them, while we have Derek McGrory and John Ball who both previously played for St Anthony’s this season.

“I know their manager John Kelly very well too, so we really want to get something from this.”
