Paisley’s proud unbeaten run stretched into another week as they continue to pile the pressure on the league’s frontrunners.

Another victory moves them up to sixth in the West Region Division Two as they look to make up for lost time following a slow start to the season.

On home soil at The Anchor, the Buddies got off to a slow start as Loch Lomond ran in an early try to hand the hosts a rude awakening.

Finding themselves 7-0 down to one of the league’s strugglers wasn’t enough to put the hosts on the back foot as they regrouped.

Paisley grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck straight from the restart.

The sustained pressure saw Lomond crumble as they handed Paisley a penalty, which Euan Stuart converted to reduce the deficit to 3-7.

The Buddies continued to pile forward and Allan Berry’s winding run through the Lomond line saw the hosts earn another penalty.

Paisley took it quickly in a bid to catch out the visiting defence, with Neil Ritchie crashing under the posts for their first try.

Stuart stepped up to slot home the conversion to push the hosts into a 10-7 lead.

In the ascendancy and with the wind at their backs, there was no stopping Paisley as they stole a Loch Lomond line-out at the front.

Ryan Rawes scampered clear, leaving the visitors no chance as he added his side’s second try. Stuart’s conversion drifted wide this time, with the score now 15-7.

Some fast passing in the middle of the park then saw skipper Ben Frost handed an easy run under the posts, and with the conversion good, Paisley pushed themselves into a 22-7 lead by half-time.

There was to be no resting on their laurels in the second half as the hosts looked to grab themselves the bonus point.

And they didn’t have long to wait as replacement Aaron Graham went over right under the posts to give Martin McKellar the easy conversion.

The tries continued to rain in as Calum McLeod got in on the act to take the score to 36-7.

But the last act of the day came from a scrum as David McKelvie made a break for the line before being stopped just short.

Lomond managed to clear their lines by winning a line- out but with the ball cleared, Grant Berry gathered before running clear and finding the line.
