Porn creep faces being put on sex offender list

-

A twisted bully could be added to the Sex Offender’s Register for sending intimate snaps of a woman to her mum.

Garry McNeill, 33, is believed to have hacked his victim’s iCloud before sending dozens of messages to her mother.

At Paisley Sheriff Court, McNeill earlier admitted sending revenge porn.

Prosecutor Margaret McCallum explained:“The mother started receiving messages via WhatsApp from Garry McNeill’s number.

“She knew his number through previous contact.

“The first message was sent at 5.15pm and more messages followed.

“The content of the messages received from the accused expressed concern.

“They also included screenshots of the woman wearing underwear and in a number of, what can be described as, compromising positions.”

“She stated that, at no time, were the images of herself given to anyone.

“Nobody was given access to them and nobody was given permission to post these pictures.

“They were stored on her iCloud storage space.”

McNeill bombarded the woman’s mother with 32 messages.

He only stopped after she pleaded with him.

He also posted the revealing images to a Facebook business page run by his victim.

McNeill feigned concern for the woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons.

He claimed he sent the photographs because he was worried about what she was doing.

Defence solicitor Rhona Lynch even claimed her client had been sent the pictures by the woman after she met other men in a bid to“rub his nose in it”.

She said:“This was a misguided attempt to contact the mother to try and draw her attention to what was going on in her daughter’s life.

“It was not for sexual gratification. “She sent him pictures of her in compromising positions with other males.

“He had reason to believe the males were less than desirable.

“He had really reached rock bottom in terms of his mental health.”

McNeill could be added to the list of perverts if it is determined he got a kick out of sending the pictures.

His lawyer will argue against it at an upcoming court hearing.

McNeill previously appeared in the dock over claims he terrorised a former partner.

The woman claimed he hacked her hair off with a kitchen knife and forced her to act like a dog.

She accused him of carrying out a “torturous”assault.

She alleged he dragged her through her home, forced her to her knees, then lopped off her locks with a blade.

McNeill stood trial over the allegations earlier this year.

Sheriff Colin Pettigrew acquitted him — unaware he was awaiting sentence in the revenge porn case.

McNeill will be summoned for a debate to decide whether his behaviour was sexually motivated.

He has been ordered to return to the dock in September.
