Now it’s Insta-exam
Council bosses are to launch the local authority’s presence on a social media channel by showcasing one of the biggest days in a school pupil’s life.
Renfrewshire Council is to go live on Instagram from a Paisley school on Tuesday as pupils turn up to get their exam results.
People all over the world will be able to see pictures and videos of the youngsters as they celebrate what is hoped will be positive marks.
A council spokesman said: “On the morning of August 6, the council’s Instagram account will be the first place we showcase the exam results.
“Using stories, we will be with a number of pupils from one of our secondary schools as they open their results and share their success with our followers.
“We will also be sharing photos and videos of pupils at two other secondary schools during the morning.”
The council is keeping mum about what school it will be posting pictures and images of, as details are still being finalised.
With a presence already on its own website, Facebook, and Twitter, the move to Instagram is the latest by the local authority to increase its profile across the internet.
Instagram is a photo and video-sharing social networking service owned by Facebook.
It allows users to upload photos and videos, and these can be edited with various filters, and organized with tags and location information.
An account’s posts can be shared publicly or with approved followers.
Users can browse other users’ content by tags and locations. Users can ‘like’ photos, and follow other users to add their content to a feed.
