MSP’s tea party helps raise funds for Breast Cancer Care

-

Renfrewshire South MSP Tom Arthur held an afternoon tea in his Johnstone office, with visitors helping raise a total of £130.50 for Breast Cancer Care.

The sum will help the charity continue to fund breast cancer research and support for people affected by breast cancer.

The MSP was joined by members of the public, staff at his office and Provost Lorraine Cameron and Derek Mackay MSP - who all enjoyed the event.

Commenting after the event, Tom said: “Everyone had a wonderful time at the afternoon tea, which was a great opportunity for people from the local area to get together while also raising money for Breast Cancer Care.

“I’d like to thank everyone who came along and brought home baking, and my staff for all their hard work in arranging a great event.

“I am truly grateful to all those who supported us and donated to Breast Cancer Care – it means so much.”

Lydia Scott, afternoon tea manager at Breast Cancer Care, added: “We are so thankful to Mr Arthur for hosting such a wonderful event.

“The funds raised will help Breast Cancer Care to continue to provide vital breast cancer research and free support services to the 62,000 people diagnosed with breast cancer each year.

“We hope Tom’s success will encourage lots more Renfrewshire South residents to hold their own afternoon tea.”
