Volunteers are being urged to make a difference to the lives of others in their community.

Star Project is looking for fresh faces to join its ranks and help with outreach work.

Teams offer time, skills, experience and friendship to those seeking extra support.

She said: “Our fantastic volunteers are the backbone of Star Project. They are instrument­al in our success.

“We value each and every volunteer who generously gives their time and support to the project and the local community.

“We will be with you every step of your journey, offering a full comprehens­ive training programme alongside continued support.”

Star Project runs a lauded befriendin­g programme.

Teams meet for oneto- one sessions for those needing support.

Bosses also support Paisley’s Men’s Shed project.

It encourages gents to share their skills to work on building, gardening and craft projects.

Sam added: “Volunteeri­ng is about giving the gift of time, skills, life experience and connective­ness.

“People are motivated to volunteer for various reasons and we would love to chat with anyone who is interested in finding out about the various opportunit­ies available.”

Star Project is an award-winning charity delivering specialist support to those in Paisley and beyond.

I t has h e l p e d changed thousands of lives since its creation 20 years ago.

It focuses on breaking down barriers and reducing stigma for those in deprived areas, struggling with mental health and other challenges.
