BUCKFAST BRUTE’S BLADE TERROR

A Buckfast bully sparked terror after pulling a blade during a row about a missing mobile phone.

Ronnie Connolly, 24, bawled at neighbours after he lost his handset – threatening to stab two men.

His own mum refused to open her door after he kicked off.

Connolly was found guilty of a weapons charge after a trial at Paisley Sheriff Court.

William James, 38, told how

he was visiting relatives when the lout came charging into the street.

He said: “I was standing in the cul-de-sac when he came into it with a knife in his hand.

“He was shouting about a mobile phone.

“I was standing at my car. “He was bawling, ‘Where’s my f*****g phone? Who’s stole my phone?’

“He came running towards the car. I jumped into the car and pushed the door open.

“He bounced off it. He then ran into his mum’s garden and started booting at her door.”

Connolly turned up in Paisley’s Montrose Road clutching a bottle of tonic wine.

He visited one family’s door and began making threats.

The court heard he returned to the property multiple times during the drama on October 27 last year.

He lost his phone in the garden while he was bawling at one of the men inside to come out and fight him.

Kim Corcoran, 26, was in the house and says she saw him clutching a blade around 30cm long.

She said: “I saw him at my mum’s door.

“He was shouting and swearing.

“He came five or ten minutes later. When he came back the second time, he had the knife.

“It was a lockback.

“He said he was going to stab my brother and my uncle. He was shouting it.”

Kim said she found the yob’s phone lying in her garden.

She took it to his mother across the road.

Witnesses say Connolly tried to gain entry to his mum’s but she refused to let him in.

She passed him his handset through the letterbox and called the police.

Mum Louise Connolly, 46, told how she tried to warn him off.

She said: “He was pretty drunk. He was swearing.

“I told him to go. He was kicking the door, banging the door.

“He was shouting and bawling.

“My nerves were shattered. “I told him ‘I’m phoning the police, I’m not dealing with this.’

“I wasn’t having anybody fighting in the street.”

Connelly pled guilty to causing fear or alarm in the cul- de-sac and was found guilty of possessing a knife.

He was cleared over a claim he assaultedMr James.

Sheriff James Spy called for background reports.

He said: “Clearly, there are issues involving drink and your behaviour in public while on drink.

“The report will look at these issues.”

Connolly, of Tummell Way, Paisley, has been ordered to return for sentencing next month.
