been launched after the maniac driver fled the scene.

And cops revealed it’s the second time in two days a bus has been stolen and crashed from the Colchri Ltd yard in the town’s Underwood Road.

Another coach was taken from the same site in the early hours of Saturday morning and later recovered in Fisher Drive.

Emergency crews raced to Glenburn Road yesterday morning after the white single decker bus lost control damaging three cars before ending up in a garden hedge.

The coach barrelled down three miles of town centre roads before coming to rest.

Cops recovering the vehicle also had to deal with a second a crash at the site after a rubbernecking driver lost control of her motor.

Chief Inspector Dougie Falconer, area commander for Paisley, hit out at the reckless thieves for putting lives at risk.

He said: “Stealing a vehicle of any kind is bad enough but taking a large bus that requires significant extra training to operate is reckless in the extreme.

“Two buses have been taken under similar circumstances, firstly in the early hours of Saturday and also in the early hours of Monday morning. On both occasions, other vehicles have been damaged.

“Thankfully, there have been no reported injuries but the consequence of such stupidity could have been very serious for other motorists, pedestrians and indeed the driver themselves.”

He added: “If you were in the area when these vehicles were taken or may have captured dash cam or private space CCTV that could be useful to our investigation, then I would urge you to get in touch.

“If you have any information at all as to who is responsible, I would urge you to get in touch with police.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
