Zak can’t wait to get started in Paisley
Paisley Pirates have snapped up young forward Zak Kenneth for the next season.
Kenneth, who is from Renfrew and attends Trinity High School in the town, previously spent a large chunk of his career in the North Ayrshire Youth System.
Having been called up to the SNL North Ayrshire Wild outfit last year, Kenneth averaged a point per game. He has also represented Scotland Under- 17s in the National Conference tournament at Sheffield over the previous two years.
In all competitions during the 2018- 19 season, the youngster picked up 14 goals and four assists in 16 games.
Kenneth said: “I am absolutely delighted to have signed for the Pirates this season.
“After looking at my options, it was Paisley who were able to offer me the best chance of progression and I know this club will push me further towards achieving my goals.
“Paisley Pirates have always been a successful club and I am hoping that continues and I can contribute towards future success.”
News that Kenneth had elected to join the Pirates has been met with great delight by Pirates chiefs.
Coach Ian Turley is happy to have secured his signature. He said: “I have worked with Zak over the last few seasons in the national programme and felt that he has great potential.
“We feel that he will have the best chance to develop here with the experience and mentality we bring on a daily basis and he understands that.
“We hav e put a development plan in place for Zak so that will give him every opportunity to succeed. We are excited to see how far he can go.”
