Help a child out with Mary’s Meals

-

Church volunteers in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Paisley are being sought by a top charity.

Mary’s Meals is an international charity which provides a daily meal in a place of education for children in some of the world’s poorest communities.

It costs the organisation an average of just £13.90 to feed a child for a year.

And this is made possible by the work carried out by the thousands of Mary’s Meals volunteers around the world.

It is a network of local volunteer teams who work hard pro-actively, raising awareness of the charity across parish communities in central Scotland.

A church raffle team volunteer is currently being sought in Paisley.

This is for those who can spare a few hours on a Saturday evening or a Sunday morning once a year or every couple of weeks. This donation of time will help Mary’s Meals raise vital funds and awareness, enabling it to reach more hungry children.

The raffle team visit churches around central Scotland, giving short talks, selling raffle tickets and collecting donations.

Church raffle team volunteers share the charity’s vision, mission and values and enjoy meeting and talking to people.

Mary’s Meals parish representative volunteers promote and support the raffle team parish visits within their local parish, helping raise awareness of its work.

This is for someone who shares the charity’s vision and mission and would like a flexible volunteering opportunity that can directly contribute to reaching the next child waiting for Mary’s Meals.

Those who would like to join should email volunteer@ marysmeals. org or call 0141 336 7094.
