WorksonPaisley’sCorsebarRoadWorksonPaisley’sCorsebarRoad have been completed ahead of schedule.

The five-day revamp was carried out as part of a £40million Renfrewshire Council investment in the roads network .

Councillor Stephen Burns, pictured, who represents Paisley Southwest, visited the site this week and was delighted with the finished product.

He said:“It’s great to see this road has been completed ahead of schedule.

“The roads are being brought back to a high standard after being neglected by the previous administration.

“The officers and workers involved worked very hard to get this work on Corsebar Road done and avoid as much disruption as possible, so I’d like to thank them.”

Councillor Kenny MacLaren, who whorepresentsPaisley represents Paisley Northwest, said the benefits of the newly resurfaced road should outweigh any inconvenience caused by a short term closure.

He said:“I know there is some inconvenience while the work takes place, but the benefits of a newly resurfaced road, free of potholes, should outweigh any short term issues.”

The council said it had tried to reduce the impact any works had on the nearby Royal Alexandra Hospital.

A spokesman said:“Corsebar Road was recently resurfaced, with the works taking place overnight to reduce the impact on the nearby hospital.

“As the road was fully closed, the works were completed ahead of schedule and road users were able to see the benefit immediately.”
