Windfall is revealed at launch of Renfrewshi­re’s Economic Strategy

Culture Secretary Fiona Hyslop said: “I am pleased to announce that the Scottish Government is contributi­ng £ 2million to the ambitious Paisley Museum project, which will engage the local community and showcase the design heritage of this town to the wider world, while contributi­ng to the overall regenerati­on of Paisley.”

The museum is part of Renfrewshi­re Council’s £100million investment in venues and outdoor spaces aimed at using Paisley’s unique and internatio­nallysigni­ficant cultural and heritage story to transform the area’s future.

That includes turning Paisley Town Hall into a landmark entertainm­ent venue.

There will also be a new learning and cultural hub offering library services in the High Street. Book lovers won’t want to miss Theresa Talbot Talks.

 The next meeting of the Survivors of Bereavemen­t by Suicide ( SOBS) group meets next in Johnstone Day Care Centre on Wednesday, at 7pm.

If you have been bereaved by suicide and want to discuss what you are feeling and meet people in a similar situation, you are invited to go along.
