Boozed-up bully terrorised his own mum when she asked him to leave her home

- RON MOORE

A foul- mouthed bully hounded his mum out of her Paisley home during a drunken rampage.

Tanked-up Jason Fish, 24, sparked terror for mum Caroline Wallace when he turned up without his keys at her house and became abusive towards her, shouting and swearing at her, and causing her to flee from the property.

Paisley Sheriff Court heard the student even blocked her from going back into her flat during the incident, which took place at a property in Argyle Street.

Procurator Fiscal Carol Cameron said: “It was about 5.15pm on a Sunday when the complainer, Caroline Wallace, who is the accused’s mother, heard a knock at her door.

“On opening the door she saw Fish, her son.

“He fell through the doorway.

“Ms Wallace attempted to have a conversation with him and said to him he was not welcome there because he was drunk.

“She felt vulnerable and scared of him because he was drunk.

“He said, ‘Is that how it is you f***ing cow?’ and ‘Let’s f***ing go’.

“Fearful for her safety caused by his aggressive behaviour, she tried to close the front door.

“However, he put his foot in the door to prevent her from closing it.”

The court heard Ms Wallace left her home, went into the common close and asked her son to leave as she did not want things to escalate.

However, he refused to go and she rang police for help.

The fiscal added: “At around 5.35pm police arrived. Fish was refusing to leave. Police heard a male voice in the common close shouting and swearing.

“The accused was referring to his mother as a ‘f***ing cow’.

“He was asked to stop, but continued to shout and act aggressively towards his mother.

“He was standing in front of her home. He was blocking her entry.

“She was tearful, shaking and upset.”

The court heard officers escorted Ms Wallace back into her property when Fish even pushed his way into her flat and again shouted “You f**king cow” at his mum.

Fish was arrested, but turned on police, threatening to “smash” their faces in, as well as shouting and swearing abuse during the incident, which took place on May 12.

The yob, who recently began a college course in mechanical engineering, pleaded guilty to a charge of behaving in a threatening and abusive manner, likely to cause fear or alarm, in that he attended uninvited at his mother’s address, shouted and swore at her, repeatedly refused to leave, and swore at police and challenged officers to a fight.

Defence agent Katie Wilson said Fish, who had been staying with his mum, had been out drinking, but when he returned home he did not have his keys.

She said: “He was heavily under the influence of alcohol.

“He is ashamed at his behaviour. “He is taking responsibility for the offence.

“He is particularly ashamed over the upset he caused his mother.

“He has been on special conditions of bail since the offence not to contact his mother.”

Sheriff James Spy told Fish: “I will call for a Criminal Justice Social Work Report and your bail will be continued.

“That does not rule out a custodial sentence.”

He will discover his fate on November 4 when he appears for sentencing.
