Three thugs leapt from a sports car and battered a man in a Paisley street.

The 28-year-old victim suffered lacerations to his head and hand in the violent attack, which took place in Storie Street around 10.55pm on Friday.

Detectives probing the town centre assault said the victim was repeatedly struck about the head and body by the gang who jumped from what is described as a dark coloured Audi car.

It’s believed he got out of a taxi shortly before he was set upon by the gang of yobs.

He was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital, where he needed stitches to his head and hand and was later released.

One of the suspects is described as wearing a ‘Peaky Blinders’ style bunnet hat during the beating.
