Man who terrified ex could be tagged

-

A troubled lout who repeatedly hounded his ex-partner at her home has been warned he may be tagged by a court.

Allan Burgon, 31, sparked mayhem at the woman’s address in Barrhead when he showed up and began shouting and swearing abuse while drunk.

Burgon also kicked on the front door of the property in various dates in July, leaving the woman terrified.

Paisley Sheriff Court heard Burgon, a former kitchen porter, was reported to police and arrested for causing the domestically aggravated disturbances.

He also kicked off at the cops called out to the rammy.

He recently left Barrhead and has been living in Wishaw.

He pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening and abusive manner by shouting and swearing, kicking the front door and acting aggressively on July 15 to 17, last year.

Burgon also admitted breaches of bail by failing to turn up for court appearances.

Defence agent Bob Mitchell said his client was a troubled man who had recently attempted to harm himself following the incidents which brought him to court.

He said: “After all of this, this man drank weedkiller and had to be taken to hospital.

“He is being subject to psychiatric examination at the moment and he has removed himself from here.

“There has been no repetition and he has been living in Wishaw under special conditions of bail.”

The defence solicitor urged the court to consider deferring sentence to call for background reports.

Sheriff Colin Pettigrew took a grim view of Burgon’s conduct, telling him: “Two incidents involving the same address and another incident in a police van.

“I will defer sentence in respect of these matters to call for reports including a Restriction of Liberty (ROLO) assessment.”

Burgon was ordered to come back to court on March 12.
