Thug banned from seeing ex launches vicious attack on her

- EXPRESS REPORTER

A violent yob attacked his ex-girlfriend for a second time after being ordered to stay away from her.

Dean Teaney rained down punches on his former partner in an unprovoked attack that left her with a swollen face and dizzy.

The 25- year- old battered Natanya Feeley on November 23, last year and then assaulted a police officer who came to her rescue.

Teaney was found standing over her as she lay injured on the floor of a George Street flat, despite being subject to a Non Harassment Order preventing him from contacting or approaching her for three years.

He admitted breaching that order, two counts of assault and behaving in a threatening and abusive manner when he appeared from custody at Paisley Sheriff Court on Friday.

Procurator Fiscal depute Keri Marshall told the court : “On Saturday, November 23, police witnesses were directed to the locus at 8.45pm.

“They were attending in response to a domestic assault allegation.

“On arrival, police witnesses observed the accused and the complainer in the bedroom. The complainer was on the floor.

“There was no on- going disturbance on arrival.

“However, police witnesses observed the complainer to have bruising and swelling to her face.

“The complainer stated to police officers, ‘He done me in. He just started punching the f**k out of me’.

“The accused became threatening and abusive to police witnesses and he began shouting and swearing and, when police attempted to handcuff him, he attempted to punch a police officer on the leg.”

Ms Marshall told the court that Ms Feeley suffered injuries to her face, eyes and rib cage in the attack.

She was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital, in Paisley, by ambulance, but left before receiving treatment.

However, the mum returned to hospital on December 1, complaining of dizziness.

Tests and X- rays showed no further medical problems.

Sheriff David Pender blasted Teaney for his “bad record”, which includes a previous assault on Ms Feeley after he attempted to throttle her at a Seedhill property in August 2018.

He was handed a Non Harassment Order, but was jailed for nine months in October 2018 after breaching it.

Sheriff Pender remanded Teaney in custody and ordered criminal justice and social work reports be carried out alongside a risk assessment before sentencing.
