Twisted lout’s cancer wish on cops

Sick yob told cops arresting him: ‘I hope your kids die’

- CONNOR GORDON

A lout who flew into a rage and smashed up his ex- partner’s flat before threatening cops has been hauled to court.

Raging David McShane, of Windsor Court, Paisley, admitted losing the plot and confronting cops who turned up during a fight with his ex- girlfriend last month.

McShane, 34, told police he wished their families would get cancer before lashing out - causing one officer to fall down a flight of stairs in the rammy.

The full details were heard when McShane appeared in the dock at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

A thug who smashed up his ex- girlfriend’s flat wished a “horrific cancer” on the family of police who arrested him.

David McShane, 34, claimed he was only having a “domestic” when he was held in February this year.

He flew into a rage at the home of Patricia McKinley, 32, in Glasgow’s Govan.

McShane confronted PCs Jack McDonald and Ryan Mitchell with one ending up tumbling down stairs.

He went on to scream at them: “I hope both your wife and kids both die of a horrific cancer.”

McShane, of Paisley, pled guilty to two charges of acting in a threatening and abusive manner.

He had appeared from custody, and was granted bail at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

McShane, of Windsor Crescent, is due to be sentenced in May.

The court heard the details of the case when he appeared in the dock .

It was heard the couple had been together for a year when they split in January.

Loud banging could be heard in Miss McKinley’s home on the day of the incidents.

McShane also yelled: “Call the f*****g police then.”

Officers turned up and found a sobbing Miss McKinley.

A television was smashed and there was glass strewn in her home.

McShane swore at the constables as he was hauled away.

He lashed out at PC McDonald and PC Mitchell also fell down five stairs during the incident.

It was soon after he made the sick “cancer” comment.

Defending McShane, solicitor Des Ziolo told the court his client’s conduct was “deplorable.”

He added that Miss McKinley has remained in contact with McShane and visited him at prison.

Sheriff Brian Murphy deferred sentencing in order for a Criminal Justice Social Work report to be obtained.

McShane will return to the Glasgow court later this year for sentencing.
