- DAVID CAMPBELL

A man narrowly avoided being stabbed when two thugs posing as delivery men tried to stab him through his letter box.

The 29- year- old opened the door of his George Street flat, in Johnstone, at around 7.25pm on Thursday and was confronted by two men claiming to be delivering a parcel.

Sensing trouble, the victim slammed the door shut on the pair, who then attempted to stab him though the letter box.
