Police hunt vandals after car torched
Detectives are hunting a firebug who torched a motor in a quiet Paisley street.
Fire crews rushed to reports of a blaze in Tweed Avenue, Foxbar, at around 2.30am yesterday morning.
They found a Vauxhall Astra had been set alight in the street and left badly damaged.
Investigators found the fire had been set deliberately and a probe is now underway to identify the suspect or suspects responsible for starting it.
Police have launched an appeal for witnesses to come forward.
Inspector Tracy Harkins from Paisley’s community policing team said:“The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended reports that car was on fire in Tweed Avenue, Paisley at around 2.30am yesterday morning.
