Student flats plan could transform fire-ravaged TA building
A planning application to transform Paisley’s derelict TA building into student flats has been submitted to Renfrewshire Council.
The JR Group has outlined plans to create a 196- bed state of the art student facility in the iconic building which was ravaged by fire just last month.
Much of the roof of the High Street building was destroyed when it went up in flames on March 11.
But the Paisley- based construction firm says it aims to retain the historic frontage of the category B listed building, while constructing a further two buildings on the site.
The plans, if approved, wi l l see 196 highspecification rooms – ten of which are wheelchair accessible, created on the grounds alongside break out areas, laundry facilities and ample amenity space.
