A Paisley DJ has been performing sets from her dining room during lockdown - and it’s proving such a hit she has people dancing all over the world.

Suzanna MacFadden, who has a huge following on social media, decided to start the weekly livestream to help lift people’s spirits while they are stuck at home.

Suzanne, who is known as Suzie Mac, has been left without work during the pandemic, but decided to do something positive, rather than worrying about the future.

She says the weekly sets have helped boost her mood as well as other people all over the globe.

30-year-old for the DJ sets, which take place every Thursday at 3pm.

Suzie, who lives in Glenburn, says she loves to think that people are dancing about to her music in their pyjamas.

She said: “I decided to start a weekday livestream to try and cheer people up during this traumatic time period.

“Not only does it help the viewers, it helps me get through every day of lockdown.

“I get to do what I love doing the most while making other people happy – and the numbers keep going up and up.

“I chose to livestream at 3PM every weekday to try and brighten up people’s afternoon.

“When I am playing, I imagine people raving in their slippers or out in their back garden.

“I love the fact that a livestream has the ability to connect with someone who might not regularly go to clubs or have the ability to. “It’s universal, it’s feelgood and it’s fun. “The DJ industry has been turned upside down due to Covid-19.

“DJs have lost their livelihoods for the foreseeable future, but, rather than wallow in the sadness, I adapted my mindset.”

Talented Suzie - who is proving a hit due to her impressive mixing of an array of hits, as well as her quirky Scottish persona - enjoyed the spotlight last year after becoming the first woman to play a new stage at TRNSMT festival.

She was the resident DJ on the Queen Tut’s stage at Glasgow Green’s popular music event.

Suzie played to the crowds of thousands on the stage, which was launched to give budding Scottish female acts a platform.

While it will be some time before she can perform on stage again,

Suzie says amateur DJs should use the lockdown as their “chance to shine”.

She added: “You never know who is watching you.

“Some of the smaller, local sets

I’ve watched are better than Ibiza billboard DJs.

“Social media and a captive audience are giving lockdown

DJs the chance to become the next big thing.

“I am sad to hear that TRNSMT has had to postpone due to the global pandemic until 2021, but there is no doubt in my mind that it will come back bigger and better than ever.

“Hopefully, I will get the chance to play there again in the future”
