Bowling along in lockdown
Brownies across Renfrewshire are still working hard as they aim to win a badge created specially for lockdown.
Members of the Ist Inchinnan Brownies and 3rd Erskine Brownies are steadily working towards their historic Brownies at Home badge.
Created in response to the coronavirus outbreak, the badge asks youngsters to undertake a number of tasks at home including baking, painting, completing a science experiment and creating their own Rainbow of Hope.
The girls have also volunteered to appear in a county-wide Girl Guiding video which features members thanking key workers across the UK for their efforts in caring for people during lockdown.
Brownies leader Kimberly Clark, otherwise known as Brown Owl, said she has been receiving videos of the girls doing all sorts of experiments at home.
“This badge is something that has been done by Girl Guiding in response to the current crisis,” Kimberly said. “I have said to our girls that I will make sure they receive their badges for taking part.
“We want to see them all back at Brownies soon and maintaining all those friendships they have made.”

Brownies undertook a host of fun activities before lockdown was introduced including a special bowling trip, as a reward for their bag packing in December.
They were also awarded a certificate of thanks from Re-engage in recognition of the girls’ afternoon teas for the elderly.
