BOP WHILE YOU SHOP!

-

A schoolboy kept shoppers and supermarket staff entertained by playing some top tunes outdoors.

DJ Callum Spence was drafted in to the Morrisons store at Anchor Mills by its community champion Sharon Dennison.

Sharon organises fundraising events in store and was hoping to raise a good amount of money for Clic Sargent, Morrisons’ charity partner, which supports children with cancer and their families.

All her plans had to be shelved due to the coronavirus outbreak so she decided to think outside of the box.

Sharon told the Express: “Clic Sargent is the charity partner for Morrisons and I usually do loads in store. It was my idea to get a DJ into the car park to try and raise funds.

“Callum agreed to come along and do it for us and all the money raised will go to Clic Sargent. They need the money more than ever now because all their fundraising has stopped.

“We’re all trying to do our wee bit. Hopefully, it cheered up everyone waiting in the queue to get in and all the staff as well. We were all outside having a wee boogie in the car park. “It went really well.”

Callum, 10, who goes under the stage name DJ Spence, is from Govan and regularly DJs at events and online.

So far the event has raised almost £400 for Clic Sargent. If you want to contribute, you can do so in store at Morrisons Anchor Mills or on Callum’s page at facebook.com/ djspence09

Clic Sargent supports children and young people who have been diagnosed with cancer. They provide financial and emotional support, offer services for teens and young adults and help with bereavement counselling.
