Coffee chain to reopen next week

Buddies will soon be able to get their coffee fix as Tim Hortons has announced both drive- thru restaurant­s in Renfrewshi­re will be opening next week.

The Canadian coffee chain, revealed yesterday they will be opening seven of their 25 outlets across the UK - with Linwood and Paisley both making the list.

Both units will be opened to a limited capacity and will only be open for customers using the drive thru lane and will service delivery in partnershi­p with Deliveroo and Just Eat where available.

They will also be donating coffee and doughnuts to the Royal Alexandra Hospital and offering a 50 per cent discount to NHS staff.

The coffee chain closed all units on March 23 as the government lockdown was put in place, but the Paisley and Linwood bases will now reopen from 7am until 10pm seven days a week.

Only two other Scottish stores in Cumbernaul­d and Stenhousem­uir made the list.

Tim Horton’s says it will be introducin­g new measures to ensure the safety of staff and customers, including wellbeing checks for staff, additional protective equipment, social distancing measures in stores and contactles­s delivery.

The company also said they are working hard to open more restaurant­s across the country.
