Get some help with mental health

-

Renfrewshire Council will be putting out tips and advice for taking care of yourself, your friends and family during the Covid- 19 pandemic as part of Mental Health Awareness Week, writes Local Democracy Reporter Steph Brawn.

The annual campaign, which started yesterday and runs until Sunday, is focusing on a national theme of kindness this year, and the council will be putting out a daily guide to boosting your mood and well-being on its website, with a focus on a different topic each day.

Some of the subjects that will be covered include healthy habits while you’re homeworking, the link between healthy eating and good mental health and the benefits of exercise.

A council spokesman said: “Many of us are feeling worried or stressed about how coronavirus could affect our working and private lives.

“There are ways you can protect your mental health and well-being and connect with others, despite the ongoing coronavirus situation. Throughout this week we will be highlighting some key themes, useful information and other ways that will help everyone with their physical and mental well-being.

“Looking after your mental health and well-being is just as important as looking after your physical health. There is clear evidence that the two are connected and some of the themes we will explore this week will demonstrate this.”
