KEEP ON DANCING

Magical memories

-

Members of the Hilda Cameron Dance School have been reflecting on happier times as they miss their regular dance lessons during lockdown.

Dancers and their families have been picking out their favourite pictures from the past year and adding them to the school’s Facebook page.

Hilda tasked youngsters with choosing a picture and special memory from their most recent dance exams and dance display.

The pictures have been shared to raise the spirits of the youngsters who are missing their friends and favourite hobby.

Children as young as three normally attend dance classes in the Tannahill Centre on Tuesday and Thursday evenings where they learn all sorts of genres including hip hop, free style, ballet, tap, modern dance and majorettes.

Hilda said:“I have been teaching dance for 45 years in Ferguslie and I am really missing all the kids and the mums.

“What we have been doing is asking them to pick out their favourite photos and also asking what are they doing to keep fit while not at dancing.

“We have had lots of lovely pictures of them jumping on trampolines, cycling on bikes and dancing at home.”

Hilda is considering joining other dance schools across Renfrewshire and moving her classes online.

She added:“We may have to do that as it looks like we will be off for a long time. We will look into how we could do something like that for a bit of fun.”
