Create Paisley gets cash windfall
Create Paisley will continue providing activities for children during lockdown thanks to a cash boost.
The organisation, which has been providing Boredom Boxes for young people who are experiencing isolation and poverty during the crisis, has received a £1,970 grant.
The money was dished out by Yorkshire Building Society’ s Charitable Foundation as part of its Coronavirus Response Fund, designed to support smaller charities during the Covid-19 outbreak.
Alan Clark, project manager at Create Paisley, said: “We are thankful for the donation from Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation.
“It will help us carry on our work supporting young people in the area through the coronavirus outbreak by providing online activities and Boredom Boxes to keep them entertained.”
Gordon Rogers, chairman of Trustees for Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation, said: “The impact that coronavirus is having across the country including the charity sector is unparalleled.
“We are helping charities such as Create Paisley that support the ongoing needs of the most vulnerable people in our communities.”
The Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation Coronavirus Response Fund was launched to support charities that are helping UK communities to cope with the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
The fund has donated a total of £ 100,000 to 61 charities around the country.
