Brows are beautiful as NHS cashes in
A Paisley beauty salon has raised £600 for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde after promising one lucky client beautiful brows for a year.
Elysium Beauty held a raffle for one client to win the sought-after treatment with each entrant paying £20.
Salon owner Chlöe Boyd said she wanted to do her bit to support frontline workers and was delighted to raise so much.
She said:“I had the idea after the Clap for Carers one night. I just thought there would be something else I could be doing.
“I’ve got quite a few family members who are in the NHS and frontline, including my fiance who works for the police.
“I decided to do a competition on
Facebook and Instagram and asked people to pick a number between one and 59 and the winner would be the lotto ball for that Saturday.
“All our clients were so willing to take part.”
Elysium Beauty opened on Foxbar Road in November 2013 and won best beauty salon at the Renfrewshire Business Awards last December.
Chlöe employs three staff and has furloughed them while the businesses is closed.
She’s keen to reopen but only when it’s safe to do so.
“I’m checking the news all the time to see when we’ll be able to open,”she said.
“Our business is so hands-on, it will be difficult. We’d love to open as soon as possible but only when it’s 100 per cent safe. I’ve started giving skincare advice online and selling products via Facebook which has helped.”
And Chlöe said she’d love to do another fundraising giveaway.“We raise money for Alzheimer’s Scotland in the salon, we do the Kiltwalk for them every year,”she said.
“I’ve been waiting to see when we’ll be able to open but I’ll definitely be doing something else like this again because it went so well.”
