Plucky sisters foiled burglary

the dressing table in her bedroom at around 5.30am.

She said:“We then saw a man crouching at the end of our bed and it was a frightening experience.

“I noticed that the window was unfastened and realised he had climbed up the water pipe and into the house.

“Shouting to father and mother to raise the alarm, we both made after the intruder and reached the kitchen in time to see him attempting to clamber out the window. We just gripped his feet and dragged him back into the room.

“He adopted a threatening attitude, so we tied him to a chair with a clothes rope to await the arrival of the police. It was frightening but, when you are caught in the moment, you just act the best way you see fit.”

The man appeared at Paisley Sheriff Court, charged with burglary, and was sentenced to three months in prison.
