Enjoying a cuppa with neighbours

-

Residents in a Paisley street have taken advantage of having to stay home by hosting their very own neighbourhood afternoon tea.

The group of women living in Balfron Road got together to enjoy a cuppa and some sweet treats together during the lockdown.

Organised by resident Marion Hanratty, 62, and her friend and neighbour Mary Palmer, 73, all the women living on the street gathered together to enjoy each other’s company.

The event is one of many to be held recently in Balfron Road, with residents hosting street parties for VE Day, D-Day and Veterans’ Day in previous weeks. Their efforts have helped to raise more than £1,000 for veterans’ charity Erskine.

They hope to continue to have parties as the year goes on, with plans already in the pipeline for events at Halloween and Christmas.

Marion said: “The parties have really brought people together and we want to keep it going.

“It’s going to become something that we do regularly.”
