Buddies urged to follow FACTS
Buddies are being urged to “stick with it” and adhere to social distancing as Scotland enters phase three of lockdown recovery.
The message, promoted as part of a nationwide campaign, is being shared by businesses across Renfrewshire as they start reopening their premises to the public.
Shops, restaurants and other outlets are asking people to stick to the rules in a bid to keep their employees, customers and wider Renfrewshire community free of a second wave of coronavirus.
People are being asked to follow the government’s FACTS guidelines.
The acronym helps people remember to wear face coverings, avoid crowded places, clean hands and surfaces regularly, maintain t w o - m e t re phy s i c a l distancing and self- isolate and book a test if they have coronavirus symptoms.
Health Secretary Jeane Freeman said: “Covid- 19 cases in Scotland are currently very low thanks to everyone’s collective efforts.
“But as we lift the measures that have kept it under control, the risks of transmission increase again. It stands to reason that as we start to interact more, we provide more opportunities for the virus to spread.
“So in everything we do, particularly as we get out and about a bit more, we should be conscious of every possible bridge we might be providing for the virus to spread from one person to another or one household to another.
“Our public health c a m p a i g n , FA C T S, summarises the five key things all of us should remember and abide by if we are to keep this virus at bay.”
The message comes one day after it became mandatory to wear face coverings in all shops.
