Victim, 21, will be scarred for life

A young woman has been left with “lifechangi­ng facial injuries” after she was brutally attacked in a Paisley flat.

The 21- year- old will be scarred for life after a t hug bat t e red her senseless in a horrific assault in the town’s Brick Lane.

The traumatise­d victim was rushed to hospital for emergency t reatment and remains under the care of medics.

Cops have now launched a major nationwide manhunt for the brute, who was spotted leaving the Brick Lane area around 9.55pm.

They have been scouring CCTV in a bid to trace his movements and are also interested in two cars linked to the crime.

It’s understood officers are working with partners across the country to bring the suspect to justice.

Detective Sergeant Chris Hughes, from Paisley C ID, is leading the investigat­ion and has urged anyone with informatio­n to come forward.

He said: “A 21-year-old woman suffered significan­t life-changing facial injuries when she was seriously assaulted by a male within a flat in Paisley’s Brick Lane. The victim remains in hospital at this time receiving treatment.

“This was a despicable and nasty attack on a young woman who

could be scarred for life as a result.

“We are, therefore, very keen to trace the individual responsibl­e and we are appealing to members of the public for their help.

“If you saw a male in dark clothing leaving the Brick Lane area of Paisley at around 9.55pm on Wednesday, then we would like to hear from you.

“Similarly, if you saw a silver Audi A6 or a black Ford Focus in and around the area, then again we would like to hear from you.

He added: “If you were driving in the area at the time, I’d ask you to check dashcam footage to see if you captured anything which may be useful to our investigat­ion.”
