Tributes after popular Ferguslie Park mum is found dead at house

Tributes have been paid to a “muchloved” mum who was found dead in a Paisley flat.

Police are treating the death of Charlene Mullen as “unexplaine­d” after her body was discovered in Darkwood Crescent on Monday.

A post-mortem is set to take place, however it is understood there are no suspicious circumstan­ces.

Floral tributes were left outside the house yesterday as friends, family and community groups took to paid tribute to the Ferguslie Park mum.

The Darkwood Crew posted a heartfelt tribute to Charlene online.

It read: “In light of the tragic news of the passing of our much-loved and very popular friend Charlene Mullen we have taken the decision to postpone the session of social isolation bingo as a mark of respect.

“We apologise for any inconvenie­nce and know you will support our decision. RIP Charlene, shine bright lovely.

“Ferguslie Park is a different place without you.”

The STAR Project added: “Thinking of you all.”

Another tribute post read: “Still can’t believe it. All my thoughts, prayers and love to her family and friends RIP.”

A pal added: “Can’t get over this. A keep thinking about the weans. RIP Charlene.”

Police Scotland confirmed it is probing the tragic death and revealed a post-mortem is due to take place.

A police car was parked outside the house yesterday as the grief-stricken friends left flowers and notes.

A force spokespers­on said: “Police Scotland can confirm that the body of a woman was found at an address in Darkwood Crescent in Paisley, on Monday, July 20.

“The death is being treated as unexplaine­d pending a post-mortem examinatio­n and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.”
