PPE vending machine will keep shoppers safe

-

Buddies who forget their masks when they take a trip to the Paisley Centre can now buy one from vending machines that have been rolled out in the complex.

The High Street shopping centre is one of just six in the country to install the vending machines. These allow people to buy Protective Equipment (PPE) while out and about, including gloves and anti-bacterial gel for as little as £1.

The vending machines will also dispense paper and fashion coverings as well as highergrade KN95 masks.

Currently, shoppers can purchase disposable masks in packs of three, five and ten, but Leona Young, marketing manager for the Paisley Centre, said that more PPE items will be added.

Leona said:“If you have forgotten your mask when you are out and about, you can pick one up at the vending machines in the centre. We are happy to be one of six centres in Scotland to welcome the introduction of PPE vending machines.

“It is a strange world we’re living in at the moment where the idea of going to a vending machine for a mask rather than a bar of chocolate or can of juice will be more the‘norm’.

“Staff and customer safety is of the utmost importance and we’re very pleased to be able to offer this in our centre.

“The operator of the machine is looking to add more PPE items but priority was to ensure there was an option available for shoppers.”

The town centre shopping complex is leading with way with the new PPE dispensers, alongside intu Braehead in Renfrew which has also be installed the machines.
