Comfort for the bereaved

-

An innovative Paisley company has launched a new funeral streaming service to help bereaved families during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Live Stream Funerals by Fuze Ceremonies, was developed after the UK Government enforced social distance regulations to stop the spread of coronavirus.

The service uses speciallytrained celebrants, video production and live streaming to adapt ceremonies to involve distanced families in the funeral service of a loved one.

It works in collaboration with Sheffield-based Obitus, a leader in UK bereavement technology, and Australian company MemoriesTM, which provides virtual memorials.

Live Stream Funerals brings together videographers, celebrants, technology and customer support to provide a comprehensive service helping families share a funeral or memorial ceremony.

Anne Widdop, founder and director of Fuze Ceremonies, said: “Covid- 19 has had an extraordinary impact on our lives, especially those who have lost a loved one during this extremely difficult time.

“At Fuze, we have been working hard to provide a high-quality, secure and easy-to-use service, which acknowledges and includes distanced mourners unable to physically attend a funeral.

“We researched the emerging use of technology during bereavement and set out with an aim to offer a more personal, inclusive package of services and support to families.

“We hope that live streamed funerals have a positive impact on those who have been affected Covid-19 and will continue to do so for many years to come.”
