Businesses rally to back ‘eat out’ scheme

-

Around 100 restaurants and cafes across Renfrewshre are taking part in the UK Government’s Eat Out to Help Out scheme designed to provide a much needed kick start to businesses as lockdown eases.

Some much loved Paisley eateries are taking part in the programme, including Blend, Grumpy Monkey, LeisureLand and Cardosi’s.

The offer gives diners 50 per cent off their restaurant bill up to the value of £10 and runs between August 3 and 31, Monday to Wednesday each week,

The offer will also be available in Dobbies Glasgow restaurants, including at Braehead in Renfrew, allowing customers to enjoy the brand’s meals, cakes and treats for less.

Diners will also be able to take advantage of further savings with VAT reduced to just five per cent on food, making eating out even more cost-effective.

Graeme Jenkins, CEO of Dobbies, said: “We know many of our customers have missed enjoying spending time with family and friends in our Glasgow restaurants and we’re delighted to welcome them back.

“By participating in the Eat Out to Help Out scheme we are making sure our customers can enjoy their Dobbies’ favourites for less.”

Renfrewshire’s participating restaurants are just some of the 53,000 outlets across the UK have so far signed up to the scheme - and a new official government online finder is available to help diners locate them.

As Eat Out to Help Out stickers and posters start to appear in the windows of restaurants, cafes, bars and other establishments across the country, customers who want to take advantage of the scheme are advised to look out for the logo.

The logo means diners that eatin will benefit from a 50 per cent discount, up to a maximum of £10 per person, on food and nonalcoholic drinks, any Monday to Wednesday in August – and no voucher is required.

Diners can take advantage of the offer as many times as they like during the month.
