St Vincent’s Summer Gathering online

-

St Vincent’s Hospice is inviting everyone to join its online Summer Gathering of Thanksgiving and Remembrance.

This will be live on the Howwood charity’s Facebook page on Sunday, August 23 at 2pm.

Every year, the Summer Gathering plays a vital role in supporting those who have lost a loved one by bringing them together with people from across the community going through similar experiences.

They share an afternoon of remembrance, readings and music with members of the team from the hospice.

While this is not possible this year, the team is still committed to being there for the entire family throughout their journey.

As a result, they will be holding their first ever online Summer Gathering live over social media on their Facebook page.

Catherine McGrath, spiritual care coordinator, said:“Over the last several months, responding to the unprecedented circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic, we have continued to find new ways to make sure we are providing the care and support which is needed by people in our community who are affected by life limiting conditions.

“A vital part of this making sure that this extends to everyone in the family who has been impacted by the loss of someone close to them.

“2020 has been a difficult year for everyone so far, especially those who have lost someone close to them.

“That is why we hope you will join us online on Sunday, August 23 at 2pm as for the first time we live stream our Summer Gathering through social media.

“We believe it is so important that even when apart, we are there for one another.

“So please, log on from the safety of your own home for an afternoon of readings, music and memories as we look to the future with hope and love.”

If you would like to join in, go online at www.Facebook.com/StVincentsHospice at 2pm on the day to watch live.

You can leave comments, messages and questions to interact with the team and everyone else watching.

Please note that this event is online only, it is very important for everyone’s safety that you do not go to the hospice for this event.
