COPS HUNT FOR CREEP AT THE WINDOW

YOUNGSTER WOKEN BY TAPPING ON GLASS AT 3AM

A horrified Paisley mum has revealed her young son was wakened by a man tapping on his bedroom window in the middle of the night.

The woman, who stays in Gallowhill with her husband and three children, says her lad was asleep at 3am when he heard knocking on his window five or six times.

When the youngster went to investigate the noise he saw a middleaged man wearing dark clothing looking through the gap in his blinds.

The alarmed boy quickly

woke his mum as the man ran away.

The mum told the Express: “My two boys sleep in the ground- floor bedroom to the front of the house and around 3am my older son was awakened with a tap on his window.

“He was startled as he saw a shadow. He didn’t move but a few minutes later there were about five to six taps.

“He moved to see out the side of the blinds and saw a tall, well-built man wearing a dark jacket with the hood up. He saw the man turn to walk away and that’s when he ran to wake me up.”

She added: “I checked out the window and made sure doors and windows were secure while I called 101. The police responded very quickly and checked around the gardens.

“My younger son woke up but we are not letting him know as he would become frightened.”

The mum, who does not want to be named, said she wanted others to be aware of what happened to her teenager and encouraged locals to ensure doors and windows are locked before going to bed.

She also encouraged Express readers who may have seen someone acting suspiciously in the Bargarron Drive and

Montgomery Road areas to contact police.

“I am angry at the fact my son got such a fright, but he seems to be alright today,” she said. “I want to know what he was doing at that time at my kids’ window.

“I have no idea what he was doing. There is no indication that he was trying to force the window, just tapping at it.

“Police said they would drive around to see if they spotted anyone but there has been no further information.”
