Community groups are in the money
More than £40,000 will be dished out to community groups this week as Johnstone and Linwood Partnership resumes business.
The committee, which had been forced to stop meeting because of the coronavirus pandemic, now has in excess of £46,000 to award to voluntary groups that are improving life for people living in the two communities.
A total of 33 groups initially sought a share of the cash when applications were invited in February and were given a second opportunity to amend their proposals following the three- month delay in awarding the cash.
Projects awarded funding must align with the partnerships vision which is for people in Johnstone and Linwood to take pride in the look and feel of their towns and their heritage.
It also seeks to support community groups and activities in delivering events and activities for people of all ages to enjoy.
Members of the Johnstone and Linwood Partnership will decide who will get what at a virtual meeting on Wednesday.
