Obika, St Mirren’s top goalscorer last season, added: “We didn’t look like we lacked confidence against Aberdeen.

“The loss was tough to take but I feel like in the games against Partick Thistle and Queen of the South we need to put in that sort of effort.

“I feel a win changes everything, especially for the morale of the boys. We’re a confident bunch anyway.

“Partick Thistle might be a team that sit in and we have to find a way to unlock them.

“I feel goals change games. For the strikers and midfielders, we want to be that person to take the initiative and think that we’re going to take it to them. We’ve got a good group and there are goals in our team.”
