- ALISON RENNIE

Buddies can bag themselves a bargain this month with the popular Fiver Fest.

Paisley First has lined up a load of businesses that are offering great deals for just £5.

It’s part of the Totally Locally Fiver Fest Fortnight, which is happening in town centre’s across the UK from tomorrow until Saturday, October 24.

There are a range of businesses taking part, including cafes, hair salons, local businesses and even a music school.

Although the latest government restrictions mean bars, restaurants and licensed cafes won’t be able to take part, there are still many other business where you can spend your £5.

Colette Cardosi, chair of Paisley First, said, with the global pandemic, businesses in Paisley are appealing to people to support them.

“Local businesses need your support more than ever this year,” she said.

“Our independent shops and businesses are what helps to make Paisley town centre special.

“We appreciate it when our community supports us, so these offers are to say thank you for that support, and to show just what great value our local businesses are.

“Spending just £5 a week in Paisley town centre can make a big difference to our local businesses and helps keep our town centre alive.”

Paisley First said around 65p from every pound spent locally stays local. So, by picking up that coffee, going for lunch or buying a gift, you can do your bit to support the community and its businesses.

To find out which businesses are taking part, pick up a Fiver Fest leaflet from the Paisley First leaflet racks in the Paisley Centre or the Piazza Shopping Centre.

You can also see the full deals online at www.paisleyfirst.com where new deals are being added every day.
